This page and the SHA-256 above are the official source of the image: if you download it anywhere else, check it against that sum.

What you need

  • A computer with UEFI and Secure Boot turned off. MimOS does not sign its boot chain: that is a decision taken with the measurements in hand, not a pending task. Go into your firmware and turn it off before installing.
  • A USB stick of 4 GB or more, which will be wiped entirely when you write the image.
  • About 25 GB of disk for the system, plus whatever you plan to keep.
  • No internet connection is needed to install. MimOS installs from the image itself; you will need one afterwards to update.

Verify the image before writing it

The ISO is offered as a single file, and its SHA-256 is the one shown above on this page. Check the sum before writing it to a USB stick; if it does not match, do not use it.
