Who runs this
This website and the MimOS project are the joint responsibility of:
- David Fontanet Bujaldón
- Jan Arrillaga Ferrer
Both act together under the team name XI14.
XI14 is not a company, association or registered entity: it is only the name we sign our work with. Responsibility therefore rests with the two individuals named above, and using that name does not create a separate legal person.
- Contact email: support@mimoslinux.org, monitored.
No postal address is published. The site does not sell products or services, has no checkout and makes no direct charge: MimOS is free to download and use. “Support on Patreon” opens an external platform where a voluntary contribution is displayed and processed under its own terms. See Payments and refunds.
Before offering any direct sale or paid service, this notice must be completed with the address and, where applicable, the required tax or registration details.
What the project is
MimOS is a Linux distribution based on Arch, developed and published free of charge. No paid service is offered, no registration data is requested, and no contractual relationship arises from downloading or using it beyond the software licences that cover it.
MimOS is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Arch Linux, KDE or any of the projects whose software it redistributes. Their trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used descriptively only.

Intellectual property
The project’s own code and original content are published under the MIT licence, whose text accompanies each repository. It permits use, copying, modification and redistribution, including commercially, provided the copyright notice is kept.
The distributable MimOS image also contains third-party software — around a thousand packages from the official Arch Linux repositories — which keeps its own licences, many of them GPL. The project’s MIT licence does not extend to that software. Details and how to obtain the corresponding source are in the Terms of service.
The MIT licence does not cover the trademarks or visual identity. The names MimOS, MIMI and XI14, the MIMI character, the logos and the project’s visual system are not licensed with the code. You may use them to refer to the project, write about it or link to it. You may not use them to identify a derivative distribution, or in any way that suggests someone else’s work comes from us or is endorsed by us.
Links to third-party sites
This site links to external resources (Arch Linux and KDE documentation, GitHub, Discord, Patreon). We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.
