About MimOS

MimOS explores a kinder way to experience Linux without hiding how it works. It combines Arch Linux, KDE Plasma, and an original identity in an experimental Live image for controlled testing.

Why Arch Linux

Arch Linux offers a rolling release model, excellent documentation, and a vast package ecosystem. MimOS does not reinvent the distribution: it applies a small, auditable layer on top of Archiso.

KDE Plasma • Wayland • PipeWire • NetworkManager

Why KDE Plasma

KDE Plasma on Wayland provides a modern, accessible, and customizable desktop. The graphics stack includes PipeWire for audio and NetworkManager for networking.

Mimos without hiding Linux

MimOS believes kindness should not replace technical transparency. Messages explain causes and solutions. Standard concepts like pacman, ISO, encryption, Btrfs, UEFI, and partitioning are shown normally.

Privacy and package trust

No telemetry or mandatory accounts. Upstream software comes from official Arch repositories and MimOS components are built from reviewed in-tree recipes.

Evidence-based methodology

Each release defines what can be claimed through automated tests and manual checks. Status labels are assigned based on evidence, not intentions.
